What excess Sugar Can Do To You

Sugar has been linked to all inflammatory diseases, it causes an imbalance in gut flora, mood swings, compromises immune function, ages the body and causes, wrinkles, increases risk of Type II diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and is linked to many more issues.

How Much is Too Much

Adults should limit their sugar intake to 6-9tsps a day. The average Canadian currently consumes 26tsps a day. 


Are you aware of how much sugar you consume in a day? Here are some examples of common food items and their sugar content: 


1 cup of apple juice - 6tsps of sugar 

1.5 cups of Coke - 9.75tsps of sugar 

1 tbsp of Ketchup - 1tsp of sugar 

1 average donut - 2.75tsps of sugar
